Pinch Me, I Must Be Dreaming

"Pinch Me, I Must Be Dreaming" says a random, near-speechless, lady on Main Street Breckenridge as she gawks at the 121 USA Pro Cycling Challenge competitors rushing past her.  If you live in Breckenridge, you soon become numb to the amazement that visitors feel when they travel to this town. (This is not at the fault of the local!) However, I applaud the town for continually hosting and fighting for events such as this.  Not only does it bring tourists from all over the world, but it also secures every locals dream about moving here and reminds them what a truly unique town they reside in.
From a locals point: in the beginning, it's just a reoccurring event that we all try to prepare for as the town becomes inhabited with crazed biking fanatics.  To the tourist: it's usually a once in a lifetime chance to see the worlds most prestigious biking athletes take on the winding passes that climb the seemingly never-ending mountains from one town to the next as they battle to be the best.  This attitude and excitement is what makes the town come alive!  What neither group seems to recognize it that this event unifies a community that is a mix of locals and visitors without effort. There is one goal in mind amongst everyone: cheer on the riders to help boost them to the highest points of their riding careers.  Cheer them into the finish as if they'll never race again, and send them off as if their will be no one else watching them for the remainder of their race.  That is the feeling you get when you experience this event in Breckenridge, Colorado.

There is simply a conglomerate of individuals all cheering for the same riders.  It is an experience EVERY single person takes home with them, whether up the street or across the nation.  They share this experience with everyone they know just to help expand the feeling that they got to be part of it.  This is yet again another successful event that should not be missed by ANYONE! Make sure you stay tuned for next year's schedule with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and join us as part of the Breck Nation.

Congratulations to every competitor in the race, whether a finalist or not.  You are all amazing riders who inspire individuals every day to push themselves to incomprehensible limits.  A special congratulations to Mathias Frank who won Stage 2 right here in Breck after climbing 12,250 feet in elevation over 126.1 miles!

Bike Breckenridge

John F. Kennedy once stated, “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride”. Here in Breckenridge, that statement serves as words to live by.

The countless miles of singletrack weaving in and around the town of Breckenridge, are arguably some of the best mountain biking trails to be ridden. There are endless climbs where riders must conquer mountains that turn to flowing descents sure to bring out the child-like smile in every rider.  As if that isn’t enough, the beautiful mountain views taken in along the way make you feel as if you are a hero in some epic tale traveling in a faraway land. Every ride is different and every trail is an adventure. In this high altitude environment, you can put your blood, sweat and tears into owning the ride all in order to get that sense of accomplishment when you reach your finish. Nothing compares to the journey you can take while on a mountain bike ride in Breckenridge.

If singletrack and 4,000 feet of elevation climbs aren't your idea of a good time, then the enjoyable Summit County paved bike path is a journey all in itself. Starting in Breckenridge, this trail stretches all the way to Dillon. Along the way you can race the rushing Blue River, take in the raw beauty of riding through the mountains, and admire the immense Lake Dillon. This ride is perfect for all ages and has very few small climbs, making the path an easy and unforgettable one.

Breckenridge Summers

Colorado summers are best enjoyed in Breckenridge.  Fresh mountain air, a cool breeze, the aromas of sappy pine trees and crisp mountain streams.  Did I mention that the activities are plentiful and options seemingly endless for exploring beautiful Breck?  Breckenridge is an outstanding ski resort, but summers are a true playground for all ages.
The motto for summers in Breckenridge at Ski Country Resorts is, "Cool Days, Starry Nights".  Anyone who has spent a few quality summer days here knows exactly what I am talking about.  We at Ski Country Resorts wanted to start this blog to ensure that our visitors have a place to go.  Not a physical location, but rather an online community that embraces them to ensure they get the true local experience.  I will share local favorites from hiking trails and secret lunch spots, to annual "must see" events and restaurant suggestions all collected from long-time locals.  So, before we start this blog I want to make sure our reader base grows and word gets out that this is place to go for information.  I invite you to visit our website and connect with us socially!
We at Ski Country are here for you, so visit us to learn more about us.
